1. Who May Use The Resources & Services of the Libraries?
All bona fide CIC students, employees, officials, and alumni. Researchers outside of CIC are subject to approval.
2. Number of Allowable Books that Can Be Loaned
2.1 Circulation Books
Students: 5 books for overnight use (to be returned after one week.)
Faculty/Employees: 5 books per week subject to
renewal
Administration Officials: Case to case basis
Faculty on probation: 2 books per week subject to
renewal
2.2 Reserved Books
Students/ Faculty/ Employees: One book to be
Returned the following class day.
Officials: Case to case basis
Renewals shall be allowed on conditions that:
1. No one else among the legitimate library users needs or wants to borrow the same material/s;
2. The material/s is/are not overdue.
3. General Reference Books, Filipiniana, Serials,
Theses and VF Clippings
Reference books such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc. including Filipiniana, Serials, Theses and VF Clippings are for “room use” only.
With permission, they may be borrowed for photocopying provided that it is done inside the library or the bookstore.
4. Audiovisual & Electronic Resources
Audiovisuals such as VHS, transparencies can be borrowed out of the library and be viewed inside the campus only. Only teachers are allowed to borrow. Electronic resources such as VCDs and DVDs are viewed inside the AV Hall only.
5. Requirement(s) for Using the Collections of the Libraries
5.1 CIC Students
5.1.1 The library card and ID card are required for all transactions with any unit of the Library.
5.1.2 The ID & the library card are non-transferable. Anybody caught presenting an ID that is not his own shall be subject to the following sanctions:
1st Offense: Warning
2nd Offense: To be meted by the Student Affairs Office (SAO) based on a report to be filed by the library.
5.2 CIC Officials, Faculty Members & Employees
Valid Library Card.
5.3 Other Researchers
Non-members of the CIC community are required to pay a fee of P50.00.00 for both graduate and undergraduate per visit per student for the use of materials or other facilities, except multimedia and Internet. All materials shall be for room use only.
During examinations the library cannot accommodate outsiders.
6. Referrals to Other Institutions
Students or faculty members who need to consult other information centers may request the Head Librarian for the issuance of referral letter/s to the institution/s of their choice.
7. Renewing / Returning Books and other Library Materials
7.1 Books should be renewed or returned on time at the counter from where they were borrowed.
7.2 Renewal of book loans is allowed except when other legitimate library users need the material, or when it is overdue.
7.3 Any book / material on loan may be recalled at anytime whenever necessary.
7.4 All overdue books should be returned immediately upon recall.
8. Fine for Overdue Books
A fine of P 10.00 per day, excluding Sundays
And holidays, shall be collected for all overdue
Circulation materials, except in the High School and
Elementary School libraries where the fine is P 1.00
day. For reserve books, P 5.00 for the first hour and
P 2.00 for the succeeding hours or P 17.00 per day.
For Reference Books (Foreign and Filipiniana)
A fine of P 10.00 per day shall be collected for failure to return the books on the same date they were borrowed.
9. Loss of Books
The same or later edition of the book shall replace a lost book, and the corresponding fine must be paid. If replacement is not possible, the borrower shall pay the current price of the book.
10. Mutilation and Theft of Library Materials
Writing on books, library tables and chairs, theft of any library materials, tearing of pages and all other forms of mutilation beyond reasonable wear are strictly prohibited and are subject to disciplinary action. The penalty shall be as prescribed by the Student Affairs Office to whom a report shall be sent by the library.
